Fiddlers Competition at the Butterprint Farm

Will they fiddle or fuddle? Witness a very impressive fiddle music performance by talented artists of all ages. The competitions will be held on stage in the barn or on the porch of the Stassen Farmstead. Artists can compete under junior, intermediate, or senior categories. Ribbons are awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th places in each category. All winners will be awarded monetary gift and farm honey. Awards will be given out after the competition. No registration fee for the competition!

 

Musician Rick Pickren

Rick is a direct descendant of Buffalo Bill Cody. He has played with musical greats such as Merle Haggard, Steve Earle, and B.J. Thomas. His program named "Gateway to the American West in Story & Song," is sponsored by the Illinois Humanities Council.

 

Musician Tony Scarimbolo

As per the adage "Old time string pickin," Tony can play the strings. He will be playing early American music. If you have a song in mind that you would like to hear, I'll bet Tony can play it.

 

The Sag Valley Boys

The Sag Valley Boys are regarded as Northern Illinois' best bluegrass band. "If you miss seeing this band, you ain't gonna be happy!" is what people usually say about this band.

 

Melissa Salee' and the Naperville Concert Dance Ensemble

Dancers from this ensemble will take you back to the yesteryears.

 

Jim Doyle

Jim from Jimmy's Chilies fame will be exhibiting seeds from his garden. He will also be providing taste samples.
